Studio Time!!

We are heading into the studio this weekend to record the final songs for our EP called Anno Domini with Marshall Wieczorek of Wretched. His studio is better cost wise from what I have gleaned. Marshall doesnt charge an hourly rate, he charges based on songs. At $80 a song instead of $80 an hour with free mastering and mixing its a rate thats hard to beat. Its a 6 song Ep so we will proabably charge $10 a cd...and I am needing $80 to chip in so if you wanna donate $10 to me for the studio I can get you a free E.P. instead of you having to pay me! So all donations are greatly appreciated haha. Heres the tracklist (we've changed the names of our old songs). (Note this isn't the final order.)

Anno Domini E.P.
1: Anno Domini
2: Time Reborn (The first half which is clean guitar will be the outro Anno Domini and the last half which is a heavier song is the intro to Altering Ideals)
3: Altering Ideals (She Was A Filthy Lover)
4: Dismantling The Fallacy (Im Only One Phonecall Away)
5: A Desolate State of Being (Discovery Of The Brainbug)
6: Sycophantic Smile

So we should have the CD done by early/mid May.

SO CHECK IT OUT!!

So this post is late....

But..OMG!!! Our show with Beware! The Stereotype was perhaps the most godawful experience I have ever been a part of!! Now I am not usually arrogant, but oh my god...if they were in band wars or something they wouldnt make it past the first round, unlike *cough* Bring Forth The Body who are going to the finals (so you should come support us at Tremont). And then their "guitarist" Andrew has the nerve to call us generic...excuse me but at least I know how to frickin play my instrument. This dude got two chords out and was like "my guitar broke, were going to have to cut our set short"...I was like uh huh okay. I personally think that he said that because Beau (our other guitarist) and me went up there to watch him play. Grow some balls and learn how to not make a fool of yourself. I was looking forward to this show...especially playing with Our Kingdom Lays Waste but thanks to an untimely hailstorm and since they had no cover on their truck they couldnt make it. AJ needs to book us some shows worth something. Haha.

The Stereotype, Counter Clockwork and our new friends Our Kingdom Lays Waste...who used to be Stick To The Trenches...who we played with at Tremont. Were pretty stoked..so anyone who lives in the Charlotte, Concord, Mount Pleasant region..COME SEE A KICKASS SHOW!!

Thrash Is Not Trash!!

Okay....I am personally so sick and tired of people trashing my music and this genre that I have fallen in love with. And the genre I am talking about is death-metal. Most people in their blind ignorance will say that it is not music, that it doesnt have a beat they can dance to (who cares if you can dance to it?)and that the screaming and stuff is stupid. Let me ask you something. How can you convey the morbidness, and ferocity of the lyrics of your traditional deathmetal song by singing it in clean vocals? It would sound so out of place compared to the style of this type of music. Now I ask you, define music. The definition of music has been tossed around and been debated since the middle ages. By definition music means "an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color". Metal is all about rhythm and instrument wise ones rhythm is referred to as "chops". A sub-genre of metal referred to as melodic death-metal has perhaps (at times) the most beautiful harmonies I have ever heard. At times I have experienced goosebumps because of the beauty of a harmony. That and the epicness of a really good breakdown. At times my catharsis in life can be a breakdown, which is usually the climax of a song and the release of such anger in a song helps me. And you wanna' hear masters of rhythm with amazing chops? Then check out Emmure. They have perhaps the most masterful rhythm techniques I have ever heard. So next time you say "Metal is stupid, I can't dance to it" think about what I would say about lets say...rap. "Thats your preference not mine" and I won't tell you my opinions bc I respect your ideas concerning rap. So don't tell me yours.

So...

MY BANDS GOIN' TO THE GORILLA PRODUCTION BATTLE OF THE BANDS FINALS!!! We played with several other excellent bands, as a matter of fact the runner up (or second place whatever you wanna call it) played their first show last night and they were really good, they were The Last Secret so you should definitely check them out. I was relieved to say the least that we were not the only metal band there. Stick To The Trenches played there last night as well and they came up in third place. As a matter of fact we plan on booking some more shows with them come summer. You should check them out as well. They may not have any songs on their Myspace though. They told us last night that they were planning on trashing all the songs they played last night and writing new ones. The camaraderie there last night was great. Everyone was so supportive of all the bands and the bands supported the others too. Our bass player learned 5 songs in two weeks. I am so proud of him, he did phenomenal. I was standing in the crowd when the judges were judging the crowd response and I just felt chills when the judge said "and our next band, Bring Forth The Body!!" and I was blown away by the wall of screaming, cheering and just flat-out chaos that ensued. Three months of hard work, dedication and labor resulted in AJ's (our screamer) hand being raised. Now were on to the finals in or around June were we will be playing against some even more amazing bands. I know no-one will probably read this but if you do...thanx a butt-load for coming out and supporting us, and even if you didn't come out but supported us anyway, this goes out to you as well.
